New Airport Procedures

All airports and airlines are required to follow new security procedures. These procedures will affect you in the following ways:

  • You will need a government issued photo ID (passport or drivers license) several times in the check-in process and passing through security checkpoints.
  • To pass through the security checkpoint you will need a proof of travel document consisting of either; paper ticket, boarding pass, E-ticket receipt or confirmation, or a travel agency itinerary confirmation.
  • All baggage must be checked at ticket counters in the airport. There is no curbside baggage check.
  • Only one carry on bag, a breifcase or a purse will be allowed.
  • No knives or similar instruments are permitted on flights.
  • Some airlines have restrictions on accepting unaccompanied minors.
  • Due to the new procedures you must allow more time to check-in. Most airlines are recommending two hours for domestic flights and three hours for international flights.
  • We can no longer meet you at the gate, however we still can meet you outside the security checkpoint or at baggage claim.
  • Some airlines still provide porters to assist with your luggage from the car to the ticket counter. If you can get a porter, they are often able to expedite your check-in. Several airlines have dedicated check-in lines for porters.

Because of the slow-down in air travel, most airlines are cutting their scheduled flights. You should check your flight's status within 24 hours of your flight. This can usually be done on the airline's web site.
